A dramatic universe of points connects the past and present in an eccentric story about the mysterious medieval castle Hammershus on Bornholm.
The exhibition is created with Yoke Aps for the Danish Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark (Nature Agency) in collaboration with Museum Sydøstdanmark and is funded by The A.P. Møller Foundation.
Situated 74 metres above sea level on the island of Bornholm, Hammerhus is one of Denmark’s most significant historical monuments and Scandinavia’s largest medieval fortification. The exhibition “The Hated Castle” is located in the newly built Hammershus Visitor Center across from the old castle ruin, offering the visitor an extended experience of the castle’s history from the 1560s until today. In close collaboration with Museum Sydøstdanmark, Membran and YOKE has created the overall aesthetic approach, illustrations, digital interactive app experience and a video projection installation.
